An image of gnosticism

This picture illustrates the gnostic need to get out of the 'natural' and into the 'supernatural'.

Great picture! It will find its way into a PowerPoint slide of mine, I'm pretty sure.

Wrong time frame, actually. It represents the scientific break away from the divinely ordered universe and the way that left us feeling confused.

Never seen if colored before.

I think it's a great picture of being born again (to see the Kingdom of God you must be born from above). What's it called and who is the artist? The artist seems to have had Ezekiel 1 in mind (compare Revelation 4). In the heaven where the angels live are wheels within wheels, rainbows etc. Our earthly heaven (firmament - Genesis 1) has images of the things in the original heaven (winged creatures, rainbows, lightning, stars etc.), and, if we haven't been born from above, all that we see and trust is on this earth "under the sun" (Ecclesiastes).
