"If God is sovereign, then his lordship must extend over all of life, and it cannot be restricted to the walls of the church or within the Christian orbit." Abraham Kuyper Common Grace 1.1.

Kuyper's theses from his 1862 doctoral dissertation on Calvin and à Lasco

Particularly interesting are statements 1, 5, 11 and 12:

1. The difference between Calvin and Lasco on the doctrine of the Church is especially evident in this: that the former generally retained the traces of Judaism which remained in the Roman Church, whereas the latter attempted to eradicate them completely.

5. Church history should be cultivated only for this purpose: that, being instructed in God's counsel concerning the founding of the Church, we ourselves might cooperate with God in the propagation and perfection of the Church.

11. The doctrine of the invisible Church should be rejected.

12. That the Holy Spirit is a person is unjustly denied today by most people.
