"If God is sovereign, then his lordship must extend over all of life, and it cannot be restricted to the walls of the church or within the Christian orbit."

Dooyeweerd’s Reformation & Scholasticism read by Rudi Hayward
Many thanks indeed to Rudi Hayward for undertaking this admirable task. Greatly appreciated. May subsequent installments flow forth easily.
This second volume of Dooyeweerd’s ‘Reformation and Scholasticism in Philosophy’ trilogy is such a key piece of writing, richly rewarding frequent revisits. I have for a while been trying to locate the original Dutch. Second-hand copies of Volume 1 (The Greek Prelude) are out there, but not Volume 2. It now looks like the Dutch was perhaps never published in book form — I only recently noticed the following relevant info on the title page of Paideia Press’s 2013 English paperback:
“This is Volume II of a three-volume work. Volume I first appeared in 1949 under the title: ‘Reformatie en Scholastiek in de Wijsbegeerte’ (Franeker, Neth.: Wever). It is now available in an English translation from Paideia Press. Parts of Volumes II and III appeared between 1943 and 1950 in the journal ‘Philosophia Reformata’. Revised versions of several chapters, kept in the Dooyeweerd Archives, have been included, according to the author’s express wishes.”
Getting access to the Dutch would therefore seem to be beyond my reach. Having already pulled together the requisite material, it would be rather nice if Paideia Press could see its way to publishing a Dutch version of Volume 2, even if it was stand-alone. A Dutch bookseller told me he was unaware of any recent republications of Dooyeweerd — so maybe there is a potential market for a Dutch-language range of his works.
